About Zoe

I currently live in North Carolina, but hail from the beautiful Green Mountain State of Vermont. I miss the mountains but love the warmth of not only the climate here in NC, but the warmth of the people I’ve met since moving here. I have two daughters, my oldest is a Licensed Clinical Social worker, and the other is an IT tech. I recently became a grandmother in October 2024, blessed with an adorable grandson, who I get to watch every Wednesday. It’s true what they say about grandchildren being the best of the “parenting” journey. He is an utter joy. When I’m not writing or creating art, I play a Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) World of Warcraft, where I play a Night Elf Druid in an exciting, interactive, and adventurous world. It’s a great stress reliever.

About Writing

I love to write. I always have. (See About art below.) For me it doesn’t matter what genre it is, the constant is always the happily ever after. I’m producing work that runs the gamut of genres—primarily romantic suspense, but also romantic comedy, new adult contemporary, and urban fantasy. Sounds crazy like I can’t make up my mind, but that’s so far from the truth. Writing across all the genres is what excites me, keeps my mind fresh, and lets me tell the stories that are clamoring to get out. I’d tell you about the people in my head who talk to me, but hearing voices is another whole kettle of fish, so, I’ll keep that to myself. The words feed my soul and the happily ever afters feed my heart. From my heart to yours. Enjoy!

About Art

I thought about my art journey from the time I understood the concept to now. I first started on it through poetry and decoupage. I loved writing about my thoughts on numerous subjects, then using coffee and burning the edges of the paper to attain a parchment-like look, then gluing the poem to wood. I started in my teens and then moved on to the art of writing in novel form when I discovered romance through my wonderful, talented grandmother who gave me The Sheik to read when I was sixteen. She loved the movie based on the book and starring Rudolf Valentino. She was an amazing self-taught seamstress and crochet artist in her own right. She made her grandchildren clothes, crocheted doilies, and even made my Barbie doll clothes. I miss her fiercely.

Art has always caught my interest, and I tried to pinpoint what was so compelling about it all. I finally narrowed it down to color, the way the composition moved me, and the beauty of the image(s). I strongly identify myself as a person in love with beauty, and the word for that is a philocalist. A word that comes from the Greek roots phil- and kalos, which means “lover of beauty.” I’ve also discovered that I’m a colorphile, a word I made up, since there isn’t one that I could find that fit. I think of it as a person who is in love with color. But if we were to apply the same Greek roots to a lover of color, would it translate to philochromalist? Haha.
