From the moment he meets the British beauty, he is on guard for, in spite of their differences in geography and status, he’s immediately attracted to her pluck and courage in the face of danger. Getting over the heartache of losing his wife has made him isolated and lonely. Wary of giving the press any fodder as a result of his famous political family, he struggles with his own desire while trying to temper his reaction to Trix’s compassion and warmth. She is his charge and impropriety could cause him to lose his job. But staying away from Trix may be beyond even Edward’s formidable resolve no matter his personal and professional stake. Even as he tries to resist her seduction, he can’t seem to keep everything in perspective.
