NCIS Special Agent Rachel Stratton part of the Middle East Field Office runs the Transnational Crimes Unit. When a cruise ship out of New York is pirated in the Persian Gulf, the office calls in the Navy SEALs to board the ship and diffuse the situation. Directing the operation, Rachel talks to one of the SEALs on board and is shocked and dismayed when he discovers intel about a plot to attack the Navy in a three-pronged plan along with a kidnapping of person or persons unknown. The SEALs are assigned to assist NCIS in the investigation. That’s when Rachel comes face-to-face with that deep, sultry voiced SEAL, Petty Officer Tyler “Kennedy” Prescott. As a woman in a tough, competitive job, and acting as the SEALs boss for the time being, it would be so stupid of her to get involved with him as getting tangled up with the powerful, sexy man could spell disaster for her and her credibility with the agency, not to mention the complications and logistics of being with a military man.
Tyler is in Bahrain to carry out a mission, not get sidetracked by the very capable, very authoritative, very beautiful, but all kinds of tough Agent Stratton. He’s just keeping his head above water after recovering from injuries he sustained on a mission in Afghanistan that went south. One mishap and he could be out of the SEALs for good. Acting as her back up and working with her side by side was a challenge. But when both the mission and their interests heat up, keeping his hands off her proves to be impossible as their passion overwhelms them both. Tyler wants to knock down the boundaries of this take-charge woman and delve deep into her, but that would mean he would have to let down his own barriers and forsake his vow to remain unattached. Struggling to keep a balance and priorities in check, time and their desires are against them. But even as the threats are neutralized against the navy, Tyler and Rachel race against the clock to prevent a kidnapping that could have far-reaching consequences.
